State
Assessment Tests
- Social Studies in 6th grade
and science in 4th grade will
be given April 28 & April
30. In order to help your
student perform at THEIR VERY
BEST, please....
Make sure your students are
in school.
- Note the days marked
on the March calendar
- do not schedule
appointments on testing
days.
- Because students are
tested on the computer,
it is very difficult to
schedule `make-up' tests
due to the lab being
continually in use.
Make sure students
get plenty of rest.
Provide students a
nutritious breakfast.
- Send them off in the
morning with a prayer,
and the knowledge that
YOU love and believe in
THEM.

| IV School Lunch
Fee
It has become
evident on ALL of our grocery bills
that the cost of food and milk is
rapidly increasing. Due to increased
food costs passed on to us, we must
raise the cost of school lunches. The
Education Commission also authorized
a $.15 increase to our current price
of $1.60, effective August 2008. The `Guest'
cost will be approx. $3.00. (KSDE
sets the guest price at a later date,
according to the amount subsidized by
them for free and reduced lunches).
Last year our lunch program was
$3,000 in the hole. This year, (due
to an increase in the cost of food
and milk) it will be at least that
much or more. This is one of the
reasons it is so important that your
lunch account remain current. Of
course, $1.75 does not cover the
actual cost of your student's lunch.
This year a paid lunch is subsidized
44 cents from KSDE. That is not much
to work with! Only through prudent
menu planning and buying can this be
accomplished. We are fortunate that
the Education Commission has offered
to subsidize the program through
Spaghetti Dinner profits when needed,
or until we can reasonably increase
the price of lunches without putting
too much of a strain on our families.

don't want to buy new? If so then you
may want to exchange your slightly

listing your name, the clothing type
and sizes you are turning in and then
list the items and sizes you would
like to receive back. All shorts

Dress
Code Violations
Consequences
for Dress Code Violations have
changed!
Due to a huge increase in Dress
Code violations last school year, we
have made some changes to our Dress
Code consequences. Attached to this
note is a copy of the Dress Code
(which can also be found in your
student's agenda
Parent/Student handbook section) and
the consequences for having a Dress
Code violation. Each class has had
the changes explained to them in
detail. Parents, we ask that you
please support us in this policy.
Note, changes apply to students in grades
2 through 6 only.

Tardies
If your student is
coming home with tardy slips, please
come in and check our clock. It is
possible that your home or car clock
differs from ours. We are beginning
to have many, many tardies. Students
are to be at school no later than 8.
Promptness is a life long skill that
all of us need to help our young
students develop. If a student comes
after 8:05 they must stop in the
office and get a tardy slip.

For some time now,
Wal-Mart has limited us on the amount
of gift cards we can have per month
to about a third of what we
previously sold. This is beginning to
show on our bottom line.
On the other hand, Dillons has never
limited us on the amount. When you
shop at Dillons, please purchase
certificates from St. Dominic School.
Don't forget
to get your Dillons & Walmart
cards. Continue buying
them at the school office, parish
office, or after Mass.
